We may have just entered a new season, but celebs like Dua Lipa and Hailey Bieber are showing us how to still rock summer staples like teeny tiny shorts but make them more autumnal by adding one very important piece to the look. And that piece is an oversized, voluminous jacket. Genius!

The 26-year-old Victoria’s Secret model is a fan of juxtaposing voluminous pieces with tinier ones – who can forget her love of baggy jeans and itty-bitty tops? – and it’s the same principle with the summer shorts and the gargantuan jacket combo!
On June 21st, Mrs Bieber shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram, and the first picture in the carousel showed her flaunting her impossibly long legs in a pair of miniscule shorts, teamed with a chic black oversized jacket. She accessorized with black loafers and a black bag, and wore her hair in a slick down do, tucked behind her ears to show off her earrings.

Dua Lipa
The 28-year-old “New Rules” singer has been rocking oversized bomber jackets for many years now – she’s always been ahead of the trends, has she not?! – including in March 2022 when she wore an oversized brown Palace Skateboards jacket with black wide-leg pants from The Attico, and a sexy black Jean Paul Gaultier top with a racy plunging front and criss-cross detailing all down the center.
More recently, the “Levitating” hitmaker has been rocking the tiny shorts and bomber jacket trend too, with one of our favorite outings being the time she was papped in London back in July wearing an oversized Courrèges leather jacket teamed with cutoff Re/Done 90s denim shorts and knee-high black Chanel boots.
