Luckily, a viral weight loss coach and nutrition specialist, MaKayla Thomas, recently shared her super easy and convenient recipe for “2-ingredient brownies” that are fudgy and weight loss-friendly. Makayla noted that these gooey and yummy brownies helped her maintain a “consistent” 55-lb weight loss and that they’re “the fudgiest, low-cal brownie you can have any night of the week.” Read more about how she makes them below.

MaKayla Thomas Shares Her Batter Recipe For A Low-Calorie, 2-Ingredient Brownie

When you're on a weight loss journey, it can seem impossible to enjoy a decadent and chocolatey dessert like a brownie without packing on pounds. However, when done right, it certainly is possible! MaKayla's brownie recipe is especially great because not only does it involve two to three ingredients, but it also comes out in an appropriate single portion that can help prevent you from binging.

To make her low-calorie dessert, MaKayla starts by taking a box of Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix and adding four tablespoons of it to a small, microwave-safe bowl. This indicates her brownie is especially good since she uses the same mix one would use for a regular tray of brownies.

Then, to add moisture, texture, and some added fiber, she takes a can of plain pumpkin puree and adds one and a half tablespoons of it to her brownie mix before stirring them together. In her captions, MaKayla notes you "can't taste" the pumpkin, as it just works as an alternative to the added eggs, oil, and more.

MaKayla Finishes Her Microwavable Brownie

Once she has a batter-like consistency in her bowl from the brownie mix and pumpkin mixture, MaKayla adds an optional ingredient that can take the recipe to the next level - a "sprinkle" of chocolate chips! You can use any kind of chocolate chips, but if you're worried about how much sugar you're consuming, you can omit them or use sugar-free chips.

As soon as her brownie batter is assembled, she takes her small bowl and microwaves it for 45 seconds until the mixture turns into a single-serve brownie and is fully cooked.

"You should have a super-rich and fudgy brownie," notes MaKayla.

If you are bored with the idea of a plain brownie, MaKayla notes you can add a scoop of low-calorie and low-sugar vanilla ice cream like Halo Top, or a scoop of frozen low-fat Cool Whip for a delicious, creamy topping that's reminiscent of a brownie sundae.

This brownie adds up to only around 192 calories, making it a sweet choice for a chocolatey dessert that can help you slim down safely. Enjoy!
