Indulging in desserts like brownies is a joyous part of life for many, but concerns about health and weight management often accompany these sweet treats. However, the good news is that there are healthier versions of beloved desserts like brownies that can satisfy your cravings without derailing your weight loss goals.

This spring, consider trying this simple 2-ingredient chocolate brownie recipe, a delightful twist on the classic treat. Packed with fiber and made with just two ingredients, these brownies offer a guilt-free option for satisfying your sweet tooth while supporting your weight loss journey.

Weight loss coach Rahul Kamat, who has over 120K subscribers on YouTube, shared the brownie recipe and broke down every step, let’s get into it!

2-Ingredient Brownie Recipe For Weight Loss

He says the first step is to ensure you have ripe bananas with mostly brown skins on the outside. Then, peel the bananas and place them into a bowl.

Then, Kamat says to start mashing your bananas with a fork, “The riper they are, the easier they will be mashed.” He stresses that for this recipe, softer bananas yield better results. Make sure to mash them thoroughly to prevent any banana chunks from remaining inside the brownies when they cook later.

Next, you’ll need half a cup of cocoa powder. “Cocoa powder is so good for you. It’s just fiber with chocolate without all the sugar and all the calories,” Kamat says. He dumps half a cup of the cocoa powder into the mashed bananas.

In the meantime, preheat your oven to 350°F. After thoroughly mixing the two ingredients, give the batter a taste. If you desire a sweeter flavor, feel free to add stevia or Splenda. Additionally, a pinch of salt can be added to balance out the sweetness.

He then says to line an 8X8 baking dish with parchment paper, transfer the brownie mixture into the pan, tap it against the counter to remove any air pockets, and bake for 30 minutes.

Once fully baked, let it sit for another 30 minutes in room temperature and then put it in the fridge for 2 more hours, this will help the brownies firm up so you get a thicker and denser consistency, Kamat says.

How This Brownie Recipe Can Aid In Weight Loss

This recipe is a much healthier alternative because bananas are naturally sweet and provide natural sugars, which can satisfy cravings for sweetness without the need for added sugars or sweeteners. Additionally, they are a good source of fiber, which can promote feelings of fullness and help control appetite, ultimately reducing overall calorie intake.

Secondly, cocoa powder is low in calories and rich in antioxidants, particularly flavonoids, which have been associated with various health benefits, including improved heart health and reduced inflammation. Furthermore, cocoa powder adds a rich chocolate flavor to the brownies without the need for additional high-calorie ingredients like chocolate chips or frosting.
