A batch of herbal supplements has been recalled by Georgia-based supplement company GURU INC. due to the fact that they contain unlisted ingredients that could pose a “serious threat” to consumers, the FDA announced on July 16.
The recall pertains to Infla-650 herbal supplements for pain relief, which contain acetaminophen, diclofenac and phenylbutazone—none of which are listed on the packaging. Find all of the details below.

Infla-650 herbal supplement recall
Infla-650 are herbal supplements marketed to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. It was recently discovered that at least one batch of these capsules contains the following non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, a.k.a. NSAIDs: Diclofenac, which the FDA warns can "cause increased risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, as well as serious gastrointestinal damage, including bleeding, ulceration, and fatal perforation of the stomach and intestines"; phenylbutazone, which has been "discontinued for human use in the United States due to the risk of serious and life-threatening injuries" including bone marrow toxicity; and acetaminophen, a commonly used pain killer.
"Use of the product poses a serious threat to consumers because it may result in unintentional acetaminophen overdose, especially if it is used in combination with other acetaminophen-containing products," the FDA warns. "Acetaminophen overdose can cause liver damage (hepatoxicity), ranging in severity from abnormalities in liver function to acute liver failure, and even death. People who experience unintentional acetaminophen overdose may not seek prompt medical attention because the symptoms of liver damage can take several days to emerge, even in severe cases. Acetaminophen may also cause serious skin reactions. Symptoms may include skin reddening, rash, and blisters."
These capsules were distributed nationwide. They were sold at retailers and online at https://www.nutraherbusa.com/and https://www.nutra650.com/. Recalled products are labeled with lot number IN-032 and expiration date NOV. 2027.
All distributors and customers of these "herbal supplements" have received notice of this recall via email. Consumers are urged to stop using the product immediately.
