As summer begins, many people look for effective ways to shed those extra pounds and achieve a healthier, fitter body. Among the various strategies for weight loss, incorporating high-protein desserts into your diet can be a delicious and effective approach. High-protein desserts not only satisfy your sweet cravings but also help in maintaining muscle mass, boosting metabolism, and promoting satiety.

Miranda Galati (@real.life.nutritionist), a registered dietitian who posts easy, healthy recipes, shared a super quick high-protein chocolate-peanut butter bar recipe that can satisfy your sweet cravings and also deliver a good amount of protein.

High-Protein Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bars

This recipe packs 10 grams of protein, makes 10 bars, and all you need are seven ingredients. In a big bowl, mix 3/4 cup natural peanut butter, 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder, 1/4 cup peanut powder, 1/4 cup ground flaxseeds, 3 tbsp maple syrup, 1/2 tsp of salt, and some chocolate chips. Mix everything together with a spoon or spatula until thoroughly combined. She notes that the mixture should have a thick, cookie dough-like texture.

Next, you want to line a loaf pan with parchment paper, transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan, and then press the dough evenly into the pan using your fingers or the back of a spoon, ensuring it forms a flat, even layer.

For the delicious chocolatey layer, take a microwave-safe dish and melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval to avoid burning them, she states. Continue this until the chocolate is all melted.

Pour the melted chocolate over the dough in the loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Then, sprinkle sea salt on top of the chocolate and transfer the pan to the fridge. She says to let it cool for at least an hour. Once set, remove the parchment paper and the chocolate-peanut butter protein bars from the fridge, then slice into squares and enjoy them!

These protein-packed bars help with muscle maintenance, satiety, and metabolism since protein-rich snacks can reduce cravings and aid in weight management. Ground flaxseeds and peanut butter contribute healthy fats and fiber, which support heart health and digestive function.

These ingredients also help in maintaining steady blood sugar levels. These bars are easy to make and store, offering a convenient and healthier alternative to traditional sugary desserts. Get the full details and instructions on this recipe here!
