These days, people seem to be prioritizing getting in enough protein now more than ever. As it turns out, one of the best places to shop for sources of protein is Costco.

Given that some protein sources can be more expensive than others, it’s always smart to get a deal and ideally, buy in bulk. That’s why Costco is such a great store for stocking up on all sorts of protein-rich foods.

Gabbi Tuft, a certified nutrition coach and former professional wrestler, created a viral TikTok video about “the best protein deals” you can pick up from Costco to eat healthier and support weight loss. Read more about her seven selections below.

Ascent Whey Protein Blend

This is one of Gabbi's go-to protein powders found at Costco, as it contains simple and natural ingredients that she says are "absolutely fantastic."

"Usually, whey proteins are sweetened with artificial flavors like sucralose or aspartame or acesulfame potassium," explains Gabbi.

"But this is a great source of protein."

If you want to shop for a protein powder that's simple and filled with more natural ingredients than chemicals, check it out!

Hemp Hearts

Hemp hearts are tiny yet powerful seeds that have many health benefits and can easily be sprinkled onto a variety of dishes, both sweet and savory.

"Something most people don't think of is gonna be hemp hearts," says Gabbi.

"This is a great source of natural protein. For two tablespoons, it's 10 grams of protein. So, I'll add these to my shakes and even put them on top of my salads."

Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon Steaks

Salmon is one of the most popular protein sources out there, as it's a fatty fish packed with nutrients that can not only keep you fit but can also support many bodily functions and processes.

Gabbi says Costco has a salmon deal that she considers a "treat," as their bags of farm-raised salmon steaks cost around $35 and typically contain seven protein-rich fillets. While that may seem a little pricey, Gabbi says the fish will provide "a ton of protein and it tastes amazing."

Plain Greek Yogurt

Gabbi considers this high-protein fridge staple to be a "win." The Kirkland brand Greek Yogurt is "massive," and in just 2/3rd of a cup, you get 18 grams of protein. Therefore, if you need a quick protein fix at any time of day, you can whip up a yummy yogurt bowl with a bit of low-calorie fruit and feel satisfied.

"There's no sweeteners, no artificial sweeteners, no nothing," says Gabbi. "Huge win for protein right there."

Ready-To-Eat Hard-Boiled Eggs

While eggs can be a bit pricey these days, Costco typically has a great deal on ready-to-eat hard-boiled eggs, which Gabbi says are "one of the most bioavailable sources of protein" you can enjoy to feel full and satiated throughout your day.

According to Gabbi, a serving of the eggs typically contains six grams of protein and four grams of fat, which are "all healthy fats that you're having," making them "another amazing source of protein."

Chomps Beef Sticks

Sometimes, you need a source of protein that comes in snack form, and one of today's most popular protein-based snacks is Chomps sticks, which are made from grass-fed, antibiotic-free beef. Although they contain some naturally occurring nitrates, Gabbi notes their 10 grams of protein per stick make them a great grab-and-go snack that will "be okay for the short run."

"This is another great quick grab-and-go option if you're in a rush and you need protein," explains Gabbi.

Archer's Mini Beef Sticks

If you want an alternative to Chomps, Gabbi says this brand's mini beef sticks contain "pretty much the same" ingredients and are still healthy and delicious. This way, if you feel better eating two sticks instead of one, you can go with the smaller version instead!
