Hocus Pocus is a cult classic and a perfect group Halloween costume for you and two besties. Bring the Sanderson sisters to life with this DIY Hocus Pocus Halloween costume.

Disney released this kid-friendly “horror” movie back in 1993. This cautionary tale to virgins instantly became a Halloween viewing staple. Starring Hollywood favorites Bette Milder, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as the Sanderson sisters, the movie follows a group of kids in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts as they discover a coven of evil witches.

Luckily you don’t need to wait 300 years for a virgin to light the black flame under a full moon on All Hallows’ Eve to make to recreate these costumes. Admittedly, it’s easy to buy premade Hocus Pocus costumes, but with some easy DIY skills, these spellbinding costumes will be ready in a cinch.

The Sanderson sisters do not wear the classic black witches uniform. Instead, their look is more colorful and a bit steampunk. The basics for their outfits are a corset, cape, and skirt in their signature color.

  1. Winifred Sanderson
