Forget Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s on/off relationship – the real relationship we want to know everything about right now involves Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie! Rumors of a feud between the two Today co-hosts have been rife for a few weeks now, with reports alleging that Savannah, 50, is angry that Hoda, 58, was brought on as a co-host for the first hour of Today, as she (allegedly, again) wants to be the only one at the top. But how true is this?!
The latest incident which made people question the authenticity of their friendship came when Savannah almost missed work on Thursday, August 11th, while Hoda was on vacation, with sources allegedly telling Page Six at the time that it was to show NBC News “who is the real boss.” Yikes!

However, the real reason for Savannah’s absence was confirmed almost instanly, as she herself said that she “overslept,” before praising the Today team for getting her camera ready at the speed of light! And the team addressed her absence in a light hearted way too, with Montana news reporter Bradley Warren tweeting, “It’s ok @SavannahGuthrie – we’ve alllllll done it,” followed by a red heart emoji.
A Today source also tried to squash the rumors that Savannah purposely almost missed the start of the show, telling Page Six: “Everything in this story is demonstrably false. Savannah overslept, plain and simple. She was coming in to work from upstate New York this morning. When the show producer called her, she woke up and rushed in.”

Hoda also tried to set the record straight (without addressing the rumors directly) by sharing a picture of herself and Savannah embracing to her Instagram on August 13th, with the caption: “Just because– and thank you!!! It was absolutely perfect !! Xoxoox.” Her gratitude appears to be in reference to Savannah’s sweet birthday tribute earlier this month.
And if that wasn’t enough to reassure fans that there is no bad blood between Hoda and Savannah, another Today source has also weighed in, telling Good Housekeeping that there was absolutely no truth in the feud allegations! “It’s unfortunate to see and hear rumors that are not based in reality,” the insider said. “However, it’s not bothersome because we have the truth on our side. Savannah and Hoda have blazed a trail by supporting one another and other women. It’s disappointing that a manufactured ‘feud’ is what generates clickbait instead of their achievements.” Well, there you have it!
