Water-Rich Foods

Adding more water-rich foods into your diet is one good way to keep your skin hydrated this winter.

Dana Richards, skincare expert, licensed esthetician, and the owner of Miami Gorgeous, explained, "Obviously drinking water, staying hydrated, is very important to staying svelte and keeping skin moisturized and healthy looking. Non-starchy fruits and veggies contain about 85 percent of their weight in water."

Richards also recommends adding green tea to your diet to reap some major skin benefits.

She explains, "I also love drinking green tea, which is packed with lots of healthy antioxidants. Green tea also improves the elasticity of the skin."

Green tea is easy to add into your diet--brewing a cup in the morning or even adding a supplement to your regular routine can help you feel and look your best. Plus, it also has anti-inflammatory benefits.

Ginger is another ingredient that you can start adding to your winter diet.

Ann Ramark, a nutritionist who specializes in skin health and runs the blog A Younger Skin, explains, "Ginger is shown in certain studies to increase moisture in your skin. And it is an ingredient easy to add to most dishes and drinks."

Colorful Fruits & Vegetables

Remark also recommends adding more color to your diet, specifically she suggests "colorful fruits and vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, melons, mango, persimmon, kale, and tomato."

She explains, "Another tip is to increase the intake of certain carotenoids that are well-studied and proven to increase hyaluronic acid production, meaning you will get more hydrated and plump skin."
