‘Vogue’ Teases Kendall Jenner’s ‘Vogue World: Hollywood’ Appearance On Instagram
On October 2nd, the official Vogue Instagram account shared a video of the 29-year-old Kardashians star with its 51.5M followers to whet their appetites for the show. On October 20th, it did so once again, this time posting a carousel of stunning photos with the caption: “The countdown to #VogueWorld: Hollywood is on! In just six days, the fashion and film tribute will take place in Los Angeles, centering the most inspiring characters in cinema history.”
The caption went on: “Count on high style, high drama, and more than a few feats of movie magic next fall. Tap the link in our bio for everything you need to know, including how to watch the livestream.”
The photos featured Kendall alongside fellow model Matthew Noszka, shot by Gordon von Steiner. While the images were undeniably striking and glamorous, many Instagram users took to the comment section to question Vogue’s “obsession” with the 818 Tequila founder.
Others also vented their frustration over the ongoing use of “nepo babies” in the show, which this year included Lila Moss, the daughter of iconic British supermodel Kate Moss. (Check out a pic of Kendall strutting her stuff in a phenomenal outfit at the show below…)
Social Media Reactions
"Is Vogue now owned by the Kardashians?" asked one person in the comments. "Why is @voguemagazine so obsessed with this family?" asked a second, in agreement. "Vogue what happened?" echoed a third, followed by the crying emoji. "Vogue, it must be said that you are no longer a fashion magazine but a special Kardashian Jenner magazine," criticized a fourth.
"I miss the days of finding a fresh face and watching their career bloom. Now it's just Nepo Baby central. #Lackluster," slammed a fifth, as a sixth exclaimed: "This!" "Always the same people…" observed a seventh disappointed fan, as an eighth asked: "How about a real movie star?"
"They've been paying their way to securing jobs/fame through one form or another," commented a ninth, as a tenth declared: "Time to move on to other faces." "#nepobaby #nepomodel," an eleventh simply wrote.
