The That 70s Show actor is beginning to step back out into the spotlight following a string of incidents that bruised his reputation and started some controversy online. He began by attending this year's Golden Globes alongside Mila Kunis, his wife and former co-star. The timing was convenient, as Ashton is making an acting comeback with a new role in Ryan Murphy's newest sci-fi thriller series, The Beauty.
At the Globes, he posed in a classic black tux with a bowtie, and Mila wore a strapless black and white ball gown made from white fabric with a black floral pattern. They coordinated quite well together and were all smiles and giggles on the red carpet.
During the awards ceremony, Ashton sat in the star-studded audience to support his wife as she presented the award for Best Animated Motion Picture.
Fans React To Ashton's Golden Globes Appearance On Social Media
After pictures and videos of Ashton and Mila were shared on social media platforms, it didn't take long for internet users to chime in, as the pair, but Ashton especially, have had quite a chaotic few years.
There were a few comments the couple made, like stating that they didn't believe in bathing their children too often, which didn't sit well with a lot of people, as some were under the assumption that they were unfit parents. However, things really heated up in 2023, when they wrote official letters to a judge, defending and supporting their former 70s Show co-star, Danny Masterson, calling him a "role model," while he was on trial for assaulting two women. Masterson was found guilty and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
The news was especially unsettling, considering Ashton was a cofounder of a non-profit that sought to protect children from abuse and exploitation. He has since stepped down from that role and released an apology alongside Mila, but since then, he has found himself wrapped up in more scandals. More recently, he's been called out for his former friendship and affiliation with Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who is also incarcerated.
Therefore, when social media saw him at the Globes, their reactions weren't necessarily friendly. Many users also felt that the Jobs actor looked different physically, suggesting that he might've gotten some kind of work done for his big comeback.
