Jason Biggs Reveals He's Lost 35-Lbs In New Interview

The American Pie star has been seen in several comedic films and television shows, typically playing the "average Joe" type and making audiences laugh with his character's antics.

However, some may not know that for years, he struggled to get himself in shape and care for his health. Luckily, the actor shared in a recent interview that he's finally back on track.

After a health-related wake-up call, he got serious about taking better care of himself and managed to lose an impressive 35 pounds. In an interview with Page Six during the City Harvest Gala on Tuesday, April 22nd, Jason said he had recently lost 35 pounds after receiving some alarming news about his health.

"I had some cholesterol issues," he told the publication.

"Probably because of the ice cream pints I would knock back."

The news of his weight loss came a few years after he admitted to struggling with alcoholism in 2018 after he celebrated his first sober anniversary. He wrote in an Instagram post that he used to have an "obsession with booze and drugs" that became "too heavy" for him to handle almost ten years ago.

"After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety," he shared.

"I'm as proud of it as anything in my life."

Since his first post revealing his sobriety, the Orange Is The New Black performer has been relatively open about keeping it up, appearing at recovery-themed events and talking about his journey on his wife, Jenny Mollen's podcast.

Jason Admits That He Still Indulges From Time To Time After Lowering His Cholesterol 70 Points

As he was diving into his recent weight loss and what inspired him to do it, the father of two shared with Page Six that he worked very hard on adjusting his diet and exercise routine for "a while" before dropping the pounds and was eventually able to fix those high cholesterol levels that ultimately pushed him to make a change.

"It's been a journey," he said. "My cholesterol came down 70 points."

Like most people who've been on a weight loss journey or have struggled to lose weight over the years, Jason acknowledges that sometimes, it's impossible to make progress without indulging every once in a while.

Although cutting consistent pints of ice cream out of his diet was essential to improving his health, he admitted that making the occasional trip to his favorite dessert spot in New York City's West Village, Van Leeuwen was his way of keeping his go-to junk food in his life.

The actor seems to be living his best life as he shares plenty of fun events and updates on his family, marriage, and career. We'll be curious to see what his next performance project may be and how his fans react to his latest transformation.
