Vance onto her podcast for a Father’s Day special, but rather than focusing on insights from the second family, social media users have fixated on a rather awkward moment between the couple. In a clip that’s now gone viral, J.D. Vance leans towards his wife and in what appears to be an effort to show affection, pats his pregnant wife of over a decade on the knee. J.D. Vance Awkwardly Pats His Wife’s Knee
Every week, Usha Vance posts an episode of her podcast, Storytime with the Second Lady, to her YouTube Channel, and for her Father’s Day episode, she welcomed her husband to read Winnie the Pooh to her viewers. She started off the episode as she normally does, welcoming her viewers back to the channel, before introducing her special guest.
“I know from personal experience that today’s spcial reader loves to read to kids,” she says to the camera. “That’s because I see him read books to our own kids every day. That’s right, today’s special reader is my husband, Vice President of the United states, J.D. Vance. Thanks for joining us today, honey.”
While Usha’s introduction went off without a hitch, J.D.’s first interaction on the podcast was quite awkward. “Of course,” he said to Usha as the camera pans out to show them sitting across from one another. “Good to see you,” he said, leaning over to pat Usha twice on the knee.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users couldn't help but poke fun at the Vice President for being so awkward, leaving comments on Instagram like, "Genuinely never witnessed a couple with worse chemistry than this," one person wrote.
"Well, I have seen worse chemistry with one couple," another person argued. "Melania and Donald. But this couple is a close second!"
"He petted her like 'good dog!'" said another user. "So awkward!"
"Never seen a man friend zone his own wife," joked the next.
"Like why would he tap her knee like that lol," reads another comment.

"He is always so cringey," a final user wrote.
