Jelly Roll Calls Taylor Swift 'The GOAT' In A New Podcast Interview Clip
Earlier this week, country singer Jelly Roll, whose full name is Jason Bradley DeFord, was a guest star on sports commentator and podcaster Pat McAfee's hit podcast, the Pat McAfee Show, to sit down for a chill conversation about his recent exciting weight loss, music, and interestingly, Taylor Swift.
After having a long chat about his health journey and how he was inspired to get in better shape, the "Son of a Sinner" vocalist began talking about successful musicians, particularly more country-coded musicians, who are very successful right now. When addressing that topic, it's hard not to talk about the Eras Tour star, who got her start in country music.
While talking about these successful artists, Jason got all excited, saying, "Four nights, five nights in Indianapolis? She's The G.O.A.T!"
After referring to Swift as the 'greatest of all time,' the rugged singer joked, "I will fist fight anybody who says otherwise!"
"Travis, don't even worry, I got this one," he continued. "Literally, like, she's the GOAT!"
Travis Kelce And 'Swifties' React To Jelly Roll's Podcast Comments
After calling the "Midnights" singer one of the greatest musicians of all time, he began talking about how he respected the effort she puts into her massive shows, echoing the sentiments that when he's selling tickets to his concert, he sees them as "souls, not tickets," and understands that going to a concert is a big deal for most music lovers, who will typically plan their entire day around the experience.
"I think of that every single night and just, like, how precious that is," he added.
Once the podcast episode ended, the clip of him talking about Taylor immediately went viral, with internet users posting it on various social media platforms. When the Pat McAfee Show posted it on their Instagram account, they gained a lot of traction from verified users, including Taylor's current boyfriend, football star Travis Kelce.
In the comments section, Travis wrote, "My dawg is the realist!" along with some laughing face and hand-raising emojis. Other fans of both the ACM winner and the "Love Story" singer began weighing in on the comments, writing about how much they agreed with him and more. "He gets it!" wrote a fan, as another added that they felt it was "so refreshing" how "honest" he is.
"I know about a billion Swifties who approve this message," added another excited fan.
Other Instagram users really appreciated Jason's perspective on how important it is to respect concertgoers, writing, "These are such memorable experiences. I love that he sees it this way."
"Say it louder for the people in the back!" added another fan. "Taylor IS the GOAT. This man gets it!"
Although we have yet to hear from Taylor herself about what Jelly Roll had to say, seeing that her boyfriend approves of his latest podcast statement, it must mean she would agree. Now, when can we expect those two to collaborate?
