Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb apologized to Kathie Lee Gifford for discussing the rumors of her potentially joining The Golden Bachelorette on an earlier episode of Today.
(If you’ll recall, there has been speculation that Kathie Lee could appear on the Golden Bachelor spin-off for quite a while now – much to the delight of her fans! – although nothing has been confirmed.)
“Kathie, we want to apologize about the drama surrounding The Golden Bachelorette, but we stand by the fact that we think you’d be the best Golden Bachelorette of all time,” Jenna told Kathie Lee, 70, when she appeared on the Tuesday, March 26th episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna alongside her daughter Cassidy.

So what did Jenna, 42, and Hoda, 59, previously say about the possibility of Kathie Lee joining the show?
“Oh, you never know! She might!” Hoda speculated on the February 12th episode, adding: “By the way, she would be a 10 plus and she’d get her choice of all the men, and you know how she is all flirty and cute.”

Even though Hoda and Jenna have apologized for their comments, it seems like Kathie Lee – who was married to NFL legend Frank Gifford from 1986 until his death in 2015 – isn't totally opposed to joining the show… if it was on her terms.
"It would have to be completely different. We'd have to make them [the men] much younger," she explained, before admitting that her children have very conflicting views about it.
While her son Cody Gifford, 34, is happy with the prospect, her daughter Cassidy, 30, isn't a fan. "Cody wants me to do it and she doesn't want me to do it," Kathie Lee explained.

The ladies spoke at length about the possibility of Kathie Lee joining the show, with Hoda seemingly sticking to her previous comments about how "good" Kathie Lee would be. "Can you imagine how good it would be? You would hold all these men at bay and you would make them romance you," Hoda said.
"Earn me, baby," Kathie Lee said, as Hoda continued: "'Sing me a song, write me a poem.' You would bring romance back. And that's what we need."
"Kathie, will you do it?" begged Jenna, to which Kathie Lee responded: "I can't do it. They haven't offered it to me." Will Kathie Lee be offered The Golden Bachelorette in the not-so-distant future? Watch this space!
