Jennifer Aniston has an incredibly toned and sculpted physique that would put most people more than half her age to shame. And it’s regularly been acknowledged that she works extremely hard for it, both in the gym and in the kitchen!

While the Morning Show actress, 56, makes no secret of the fact that she works hard for her enviable figure, she also doesn’t shy away from confessing that her diet and workout routine may not be as strict as some people believe…

What Is Jennifer Aniston's 80/20 Rule?

When it comes to diet, The Murder Mystery 2 star reportedly sticks to the 80/20 rule, which helps her maintain balance in her life.

That means 80% of the time, the LolaVie mogul fuels up with clean, nutrient-dense food – think lean protein, vegetables, fruit, and whole grains – and 20% of the time she lets herself enjoy more indulgent options like desserts, snacks, higher calorie food, and yes, even alcohol!

Balance, not deprivation, seems to be her secret. And anyone who has seen pictures of her toned physique lately knows that it definitely seems to be working! She previously told Allure that there are "no restrictions" in her life. "Except hard drugs."

She went on: "You've got to live your life. 80% healthy living and then 20% is: go have a martini, go have your pizza and burgers and stay up late with your friends. There's a balance." Sounds good to us!

What Exercise Does Jennifer Aniston Do?

Of course, food is only half of the equation. Anyone who's seen Jen's abs knows she's equally committed to her workouts.

Her trainer, Dani Coleman – VP of Training at Pvolve – recently told the New York Post that she's "in awe" of the star's core strength and consistency. "I'm consistently impressed with her workout standard," Coleman shared.

The Friends alum has raved about her love of Pvolve in the past, previously telling People: "In all the workouts I've tried over the years, this one has transformed my body more than any of the others, and it's a really enjoyable workout that I don't feel intimidated by, that I don't dread."

The Importance Of Strength Training

According to Coleman, their sessions usually run 40 minutes to an hour, three times a week, depending on Aniston's schedule. And nothing gets left out.

"The most beautiful thing about our sessions is we tap into a little bit of everything," Coleman explained, confirming that they do a mix of cardio, mobility work, stability training, and heavy weights to build lean muscle mass.

Aniston echoed this in Allure, stressing that muscle-building has become her top priority as she gets older. "Strength training is the most important thing for women in their 50s," she said. "If you lose muscle, your bones get brittle – osteoporosis. We fall down, we break a hip, and that's a wrap."
