Jennifer Aniston has been hitting the headlines even more than usual these past few months, mostly due to her new relationship with Jim Curtis!
But going Instagram-official with her hypnotist new boyfriend isn’t the only thing the Friends alum is getting attention for right now, as people are also really talking about her brand new cookbook! But unfortunately for Aniston, it isn’t that positive…
On September 9th, the Murder Mystery 2 actress, 56, dropped Cook with Clydeo: A Cookbook for Kids: 35 Totally Awesome Recipes. The book is part of Aniston’s Clydeo series, which first launched in 2021 as an animated digital short-form project featuring Clydeo, her cartoon pup who happens to be obsessed with food. The character, created by Invisible Universe, was designed to expand Aniston’s brand into family-friendly entertainment.
The Amazon description reads: “Join global superstar Jennifer Aniston and her food-obsessed dog, Clydeo, in the kitchen with this cookbook featuring thirty-five tasty, kid-friendly recipes for every meal of the day. From breakfast through dessert, young chefs will learn how to make yummy, crowd-pleasing dishes, including Jennifer Aniston’s Easy Enchilada Bites, Clydeo’s Legendary Lasagna, and more!
“With easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, helpful kitchen-safety tips, funny sidebars from Clydeo on how to add even more pizzazz to a meal, and stories of mishap and triumph from Jen’s kitchen, this book will empower any kid to grab an apron and take a bite out of life, just like Clydeo!”
To promote the release, the LolaVie mogul filmed herself making several recipes, and posted the videos on the cookbook’s official Instagram account. But while most of the Instagram comments were wholesome and complimentary, the reaction on Reddit has been extremely harsh, especially in terms of the front cover.
Some people thought the cover looked like “terrible” AI, while others thought it looked too bad to be AI. Ouch! And others just slammed it altogether, either for being dated, or for not really being accurate for what kids actually want to eat, among other things.
