Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Got Matching Tattoos In 2023
The "Love Don't Cost a Thing" hitmaker debuted her tattoo on Valentine's Day in 2023. The tattoo was placed on her ribcage, and featured an infinity symbol with an arrow shooting through it with both her and Ben's name written along the design.
The Gone Girl actor, 53, also proved his love and dedication with some new ink to match his then beau, and got a tattoo with two crossed arrows and their initials. We guess he could repurpose that if the rumors of him wanting to get back together with previous ex-wife Jennifer Garner are true and they do indeed end up together…
Jennifer Lopez Seemingly Removes Her Tattoo
After they had split up, fans noticed the Shotgun Wedding star covering her tattoo up with makeup when wearing revealing dresses on the red carpet. In May this year, eagle-eyed fans spotted that it looked a little different. It looked somewhat faded, and as if it was mid-removal when it peeked through the backless dress she wore to the AMAs.
More recent reports, however, claim she ultimately chose to replace the design rather than remove it entirely, swapping Ben's name for a hummingbird. This was seemingly evident from July/August this year, with the updated design being easier to spot in recent pictures and videos, including her show in Las Vegas earlier this month. Check out a video of J-Lo in action, where you can see glimpses of the tattoo, here.
An insider reportedly told Deuxmoi: "J-Lo covered up Ben's name on her tattoo. She put a hummingbird in place of his name. Fans don't know exactly when she covered up the tattoo, but they noticed the change in July/August of this year." Covered up, altered, or removed completely, it seems like the message is clear: J-Lo is done with Ben!
Internet Reactions
"Honestly, thank God why did she get such a 2012 tattoo in the first place?" one person asked on a Deuxmoi Instagram post about the tattoo update. "Good. No one should ever tattoo a romantic partner's name on their body," echoed a second, as a third concurred: "Kiss of death tattoo."
"This is why you don't get someone's name tattooed on your body," a fourth chimed in. "Doesn't everyone know you never put your man's name on your body… instant divorce," wrote a fifth, in agreement.
"We all need to move on from Ben and Jen," quipped a sixth, as a seventh referenced the rumors of them getting back together for the third time, writing: "I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want a 3.0?! want this man to live his best life, not the sad J-lo wife life."
