Jessica, 43, shared an image of herself with the 11-year-old on Friday, both mom and daughter posing in the doorway of what can be assumed is the Dukes of Hazzard star’s beautiful home—and the innocent Instagram pic caused controversy immediately due to Maxwell’s “risqué” outfit, which included a midriff-bearing denim crop top. Followers barraged the comments, with one imploring Jessica to “stop sexualizing your little girl.”

Jessica posted a few images to Instagram on Friday as her and her daughter, Maxwell, prepared to attend an event in support of the brand PetSafe. The photos featured herself with long blond hair, a hot pink minidress, and pink oversized clutch, along with Maxwell in a denim cropped tube top and matching maxi skirt, with similar flowing blonde hair. Maxwell’s crop top showed off her midriff, while a center slit in her dress was cut up to her knees. Many commenters found the middle schooler’s outfit disturbing: “Isn’t she like 11 or something?? Stop sexualizing your little girl,” read one reply. Another mused, “Why in the hell [you would] let your child dress like that is beyond me!!!”
That was far from the total vitriol shared in the post’s comments. One follower questioned, “Why is your 11 year old wearing a corset?” Another commented, “Not a good look for an 11 year old child!” One particularly harsh Instagram user said to Jessica of the post, “You should be ashamed.” The controversial pictures were accompanied by the caption, “Bring your Barbie to work day,” along with a pink heart emoji.

Some Fans Defend Jessica's Parenting Choices: 'So Many Karens!'
Though many criticized Jessica's choice to post the images and to let Maxwell wear the crop top in the first place, others did step into the comments to defend the mother of 3. "So many Karens here geez! No 11 year old looks like an 11 yr old today. We’re not in the Brady Bunch years anymore, she looks fine. She’s w her momma!" a defender wrote. Another agreed: "Sooo cute," adding, "(PS, if you sexualize an 11 year old for what she is wearing, you are part of the problem.)"
One follower chastised commenters for perceived hypocrisy. "The irony of everyone in the comments accusing her of 'sexualizing' her daughter by allowing her to wear whatever the f–k she wants, when y’all are doing the exact same thing to an 11 y.o girl on the internet whom you don’t even know lmaooo," the fan wrote, adding a clown emoji for emphasis.
