Jim Carrey Makes An Appearance At The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony
Last weekend was the annual Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, and one of the guest presenters was Jim, who was there to give a speech about the late singer Chris Cornell before introducing his band, Soundgarden, for a performance.
Aside from posing for red carpet photos, the actor stood on stage alongside the vocalist's daughter, Lily Cornell. Jim has been a long-time lover of music, especially rock music, and was friends with Chris prior to his tragic passing in 2017.
Therefore, when fans of his and other music enthusiasts saw him at the televised ceremony, they were very pleased. However, aside from his touching tribute to his friend, something else caught fans' attention, and it was the look on his face, which they believed had changed.
"This is a face of his I've never seen before," wrote an X user.
"His face looks weird," added another.
Plastic Surgeon Weighs In On Jim Carrey's New Face
Given that the Bruce Almighty performer has been in the spotlight for decades and is well known for being able to contort his face into all different sorts of expressions, the state of his face was bound to change.
However, many fans feel that it's changed in a way that it looks as though he's been dabbling in plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments. It got to the point where plastic surgeons and aesthetics professionals began to weigh in on the matter, analyzing the way his face has changed, and what he might've done if he had indeed made cosmetic tweaks.
An Oregon-based plastic surgeon, Dr. Sean McNally, told The Daily Mail that the actor has likely had an "upper blepharoplasty and Botox injections."
"In older pictures, he has more excess upper eyelid skin. This can be addressed with upper blepharoplasty or brow lift," the surgeon told the publication.
Dr. McNally also added that one of the "biggest changes" to Jim's face is around his eyes, as well as his forehead, which was seemingly lacking in wrinkles.
"At his age, I'd expect more deepened wrinkles in the forehead, so I expect that he's utilizing Botox," he noted.
Although the tweaks to his face don't change the success and talent associated with Jim's career, seeing him suddenly look a lot different as he's aged certainly has some people stumped and speculating.
