Jimmy Fallon is the latest famous face to contract a breakthrough case of COVID-19, joining the likes of Hoda Kotb, Hugh Jackman, Whoopi Goldberg, Debra Messing, and LL Cool J, among others, who have recently tested positive for the virus. The 47-year-old Tonight Show host took to Instagram on Monday, January 3rd to tell his fans about his diagnosis, while also praising the medical professionals who “work so hard” to get as many people vaccinated as possible.

“Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid. I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms,” Fallon captioned a picture of himself wearing a blue mask whilst in what appears to be an isolation room.

"Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed" he continued. "Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job - and also thanks for putting me in the “What ‘chu talkin’ about Willis?” isolation room when they told me the news."

Many celebrity friends commented on his post with well wishes, including Reese Witherspoon (who recently appeared on his show) writing: "Hope you had a speedy recovery!" and Kristen Chenoweth who commented, "Jimmy please rest. Eat. Repeat. Feel better," followed by a red heart emoji. And it looks like those wishes helped, as the talk show host revealed that he is "feeling 100%" when asked by a fan on the same post when he would be returning to The Tonight Show. On January 4th, Jimmy said: "The positive came back on 12/18. Back at work today and feeling 100%!"
