Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry‘s surprising romance that definitely wasn’t on our 2025 bingo card still appears to be a thing – much to the disappointment and confusion of his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.
The former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, and the “Firework” singer, 40, still appear to be seeing each other – although we don’t know how serious their romance is – after being papped smooching on her 24-meter yacht, Caravelle, off the coast of Sardinia earlier this month.
While neither Trudeau nor Perry has commented publicly on their rumored relationship, their PDA-filled yacht photos tell fans all they need to know; and sources say the pictures have unsurprisingly hit his estranged wife hard.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, 50, was married to the former Canadian Prime Minister for 18 years, before they announced their separation in August 2023. They called it a “joint decision,” at the time, and said their focus was to co-parent their children, Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
She still hasn’t released an official statement about her thoughts on the romance, but she did recently share a cryptic message about “letting go,” which fans have interpreted as a direct response to Justin’s newfound romance.
Her post was captioned: “Nothing we love is meant to be kept forever. People, places, moments – they’re all meant to be lived, not possessed. The beauty is in the being there: in the shared laugh, the quiet glance, the heartbeat of a place before it changes.”
“Connection isn’t something we hold – it’s something we feel while it’s here. That’s the real magic: presence,” her caption went on. “Let yourself love what’s here, without trying to make it stay.”
In the video, she said: “The people, the places [and] even the moments that once felt infinite – time asks us to not cling to them and yet we do.” She added: “I do, because to hold on feels safer than to let go. But love was never about possession. It was always about presence.”

Although the former television host hasn't commented on her ex's new romance with the "Woman's World" singer, it's not hard to see that she isn't taking it very well. As well as interpreting her recent message on Instagram, those closest to her have confirmed that she is struggling, and is trying to stay out of the spotlight and simply focus on her children.
"She's putting on a brave face publicly, but she's devastated," an insider shared, before confirming how she felt after seeing the PDA pictures of her ex and the "Roar" singer.
"Seeing those images was like being punched in the stomach," the source continued.
