Kaia Gerber showed off her model physique during a recent hike in L.A., and while some trolls expressed concern about what they perceive as continued weight loss, her fans quickly came to her defense online.
In photos published by TMZ, the 24-year-old runway star was seen in a black sports bra and ultra-short bike shorts while walking her dog with a male friend. She completed the sporty look with a gray cap, sunglasses, a crossbody bag, ankle socks, and sneakers, and wore her hair in pigtails for the outdoor outing.

Kaia Gerber Steps Out In A Workout Set Amid Health Concerns
Kaia, who has long been known for her naturally slender frame as one of fashion’s leading models, drew renewed attention from followers who believe she has lost additional weight. After the images circulated on social media, commenters noted that she seemed slimmer than usual.
“Pls don’t promote this as a toned physique,” noted one user. A second said, “I will not body shame, I will only pray young girls don’t compare themselves and develop body dysmorphia.” A third commented, “She’s lovely. She’s thin. I don’t consider her to be toned at all.” A fourth wrote, “I hate to say it, she doesn’t look healthy.” A fifth quipped, “Turning heads because people are worried.”
Other fans came to her defense, writing, “She has her mommas face, shes beautiful. Some girls are just skinny stop body shaming.” Another said, “she is young and clearly works out .. I was the same size her age if not skinnier.. and ate everything – it’s genetics … skinny shame is a form of body shaming as well.”

Kaia Gerber Gets Candid In New Vanity Fair Feature
The daughter of Cindy Crawford has never publicly responded to discussions about her weight — unlike Ariana Grande, who has addressed similar commentary multiple times amid her ongoing Wicked promotion.
It appears Kaia isn’t giving much attention to the commentary surrounding her weight and is instead focused on the next chapter of her growing acting career. In a recent Vanity Fair feature, she opened up about public perception and how she’s learned to navigate it.
“I kind of play with people’s perception of me and projections onto me,” Gerber shared. “It’s so crucial to be able to make fun of yourself. I truly believe that if you can’t laugh with everyone else—if you can’t laugh at yourself—life will be such a challenge for you.”
Right now, Gerber is juggling both stage and screen work in Los Angeles. She’s starring as Jane Jr. in the play Evanston Salt Costs Climbing at the Rogue Machine Theatre, while also filming the TV series Palm Royale. Her recent film credits include Saturday Night (2024) and Shell (2024), with another project, Outcome, on the way.
The brunette beauty added that acting has helped her embrace moments of discomfort. “Embarrassment is so underexplored, and we try to avoid it at all costs,” she said. “But I think there’s so much value in accepting and exploring embarrassment.”
