Nobody appears to be safe from Kanye West’s outrageous remarks at the moment. After slamming Hailey Bieber, and making anti-Semitic and anti-Black comments on social media and in interviews which led to Adidas terminating its deal with him, the 45-year-old “Eazy” rapper has now come after George Floyd’s family, shortly after he said he wanted to “apologize” for the false statements he recently made on a podcast about Floyd’s death in May 2020.

Drink Champs false claims
If you'll recall, the Yeezy designer made some false claims on an episode of the Drink Champs podcast last month, saying that Floyd’s death was fentanyl-related and that police officer Derek Chauvin's "knee wasn’t even on his neck like that." (Kanye's recent claims come two years after he reportedly donated $2M to the Floyd family in addition to a college savings fund for Floyd and Roxie Washington’s daughter, Gianna.)
Lawsuit against Kanye
As a result of Ye's false claims on the October 15th podcast, Washington reportedly filed a $250M lawsuit against the rapper, and is suing him for harassment, misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress. As expected, Ye has had a *lot* to say about the lawsuit, and has branded her and other members of Floyd's family "greedy."

"Now for Roxie Washington and Roxie Washington ALONE, I gave 2 million dollars out of my pocket for the family. To help George’s daughter… Your daughter!" he wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. "Many gave words. I ACTED. Now because of words you want to sue me for 250 million dollars… when I’m going through an Economic lynching. A Digital Lynching. A Social Credit Score bankrupting."

Kanye's post continued: "You’re either being controlled or you’re being greedy. This is how you try someone who was there for your family? You will never get money from no one else. GOD don’t like ugly."

Kanye tells paps he wants to "apologize"
The Donda rapper's social media attack came after he was filmed by paparazzi on Friday, October 28th saying that he wanted to apologize for what he said on the podcast, while seemingly comparing himself to Floyd amid the backlash over his recent controversial behavior and anti-Semitic remarks that led to brands like Adidas and Gap cutting ties with him.
"When I questioned the death of George Floyd, it hurt my people," the Grammy-winner can be heard saying in the pap video. "I want to apologize. Because God has showed me by what Adidas is doing, by what the media is doing, I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now," he added.
