The Princess Of Wales Wears Rare Promise Ring In Olympics Video
In the video that was released on August 11th, the Princess of Wales can be seen sporting a chic blue and white striped long-sleeved top, with her brunette locks worn in a glossy side-parted down do. She is also sporting a rose gold promise ring on one finger, which actually comes with a very interesting backstory.
According to reports, the promise ring was given to the mom-of-three by Prince William when the pair were dating at St. Andrew's University. This means that the Prince of Wales must have given it to her at some point before graduating college in 2005, and before reportedly briefly breaking up with her over the phone in 2007. Is this proof that he really did intend to marry Kate Middleton all along?!
The Princess of Wales reportedly wore the ring during her graduation in June 2005, with Dress Like a Duchess confirming that she "wore the ring on her middle finger during her youth." She doesn't wear it out that often these days, but reportedly wore it to Hope House (below) and Great Tower Scout Camp back in 2013.

The pearl is Prince William's birthstone (his birthday is in June, FYI) and the garnet is Kate's January birthstone. According to Tatler, the garnet gemstones "represent commitment, and pearls are known to be a symbol of innocence and purity." How romantic!
