On December 6th, the 41-year-old “Firework” singer shared a picture of herself posing with the 53-year-old former Canadian Prime Minister on Instagram, officially hard-launching their relationship.

The picture appeared in a carousel featuring photos and videos from a visit to Japan, where Perry wrapped up her Lifetimes tour. As well as a picture of the couple posing outdoors together, the carousel also included an adorable black and white video of them eating while gazing at each other fondly, and another video of them attending an art exhibit together.
While there were of course some doubters and disapprovers, most of the former American Idol judge's fans were thrilled by what they saw! "The hard launch," commented one fan, followed by the heart eyes emoji. "The way they look at each other in the 4th slide," gushed a second, in reference to the black and white video, as a third said: "Just love you two together."
"This is actually an insane moment in Canadian pop culture history," noted a fourth, as a fifth said: "I ship." "Couple goals," declared a sixth, as a seventh added: "Awww we are so happy for you." "I'm here for ALL of this," praised an eighth.

According to insiders, their surprising relationship has become what it is because of the former PM's hard work and persistence.
"Justin has been so persistent. She wasn't looking to date when they first hung out and she certainly wasn't looking for a boyfriend," an insider shared with People.
The insider went on to say that their romance came as an "exciting surprise" to the "Woman's World" singer, adding: "He's shown her over and over again that he genuinely wants to see her. He's flown all over the world to spend time with her while she toured."
"She likes spending time with him," the source confirmed. "She's flattered that he's made such a big effort and she's excited to be dating him." This is a prime example of, 'if he wanted to, he would.'
