In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, she described their relationship as a “tornado,” complete with its fair share of “resistance and challenges.”

The 35-year-old explained her relationship with Brand during the interview: "I was having great success at 23, 24 and 25 and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating."
The singer continued, "It was just like a tornado, it was everything happening at once."
Perry added that she "always resonated with friction and resistance and challenges."
The pair's divorce was initiated by Brand when he texted Perry to let her know he would be filing for divorce. Perry explained to 60 Minutes that their split was the "first breaking of [her] idealistic mind."
This is not the first time Perry has opened up about that traumatic moment.
In 2013, she told Vogue, "Let's just say I haven't heard from [Brand] since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
However, Perry has since developed a healthy relationship with Orlando Bloom. The couple welcomed their first child together, Daisy Dove, in August.
Describing their relationship, Perry explained that it was "a healthy frictional, very open, very communicative, nothing is swept under the mat type of relationship."
She continued, "I think if we can get to the ends of our lives together, we'll be each other's greatest teachers."
