Back in 2020, Katy Perry and her then-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, bought a home in Montecito, California from an elderly veteran named Carl Westcott. However, after the sale went through, Westcott attempted to cancel the transaction, claiming he was “mentally incapacitated” at the time. After duking it out in court, the judge ruled in Perry’s favor, and now, to add insult to injury, she’s not even living in the home. Instead, she’s rented it out to Chris Pratt and his family. Katy Perry Rents Home To Chris Pratt
The house in question boasts eight bedrooms, an outdoor pool, and a tennis court, all within a sought-after neighborhood known for its privacy. Westcott's son, Chart, previously spoke out against the "Wide Awake" singer, saying: "She has no sense of fair play, no empathy, zero empathy, quite the opposite." He also accused the famous couple of "treating ordinary people like dirt," saying the way they've conducted their affairs is "unforgivable."
Now, Chris Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and their three children have taken up residence, paying rent to Perry. "The arrangement suits Chris," a source shared, "but it's a bit of a surprise given how Katy fought tooth and nail to get her hands on the house. She previously suggested it was the ideal place for her and Orlando to raise a family. After all that time, energy, and money, it seems unthinkable that they are not going to live in it." Fans agree with this sentiment, with users leaving comments on social media like, "Can't stand her!"

Is It Because Of The Breakup?
Perhaps the decision to rent the house out to other celebrities is a result of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's shocking split. The pair announced their split earlier this week after nine years together. They also share a daughter, Daisy, 4, together, but will be moving forward with a co-parenting arrangement.
A source dished on their breakup, saying, "They got to a point where they feel there is no going back to a healthy relationship and that it’s better to live separate lives." Fortunately, this won't be one of those messy, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt or Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner type of break ups. "The split is amicable," the source added.
