The whole world sat down to watch King Charles III’s coronation on Saturday, May 6th. The new monarch was reportedly very worried about daughter-in-law Kate Middleton potentially upstaging him with her outfit on his big day (which we think she still managed to do in her stunning custom Alexander McQueen ensemble) but perhaps he should have been more worried about Katy Perry, as we definitely think she pulled focus when she arrived at Westminster Abbey.

Katy Perry Wears Custom Vivienne Westwood To King Charles' Coronation
The 38-year-old American Idol judge was one of King Charles' A-list coronation guests from across the pond; most likely because she was performing at the coronation concert the following day, and also because she has previously worked with the King via The British-Asian Trust, a charity which was established by the King when he was the Prince of Wales. And she certainly dressed the part, as she championed a quintessentially British designer and was dressed in head-to-toe Vivienne Westwood for the occasion.
The mom-of-one wore a chic Vivienne Westwood outfit that consisted of a lilac midi dress teamed with a short-sleeved jacket with a square neck, matching lavender-hued opera gloves, and a dramatic hat that no doubt restricted the view of anyone sitting behind her. We hope they didn’t hold it against her – we sure wouldn’t!
The "Harleys in Hawaii" singer finished off with an unmistakable Vivienne Westwood three-tier pearl choker necklace proving that subtlety was not an option, a pale pink Vivienne Westwood 'Granny Frame' pearl top handle bag, and white heels.

The one-of-a-kind dress featured a corseted 18th-century silhouette, which the brand said was designed to "exude baroque grandeur," according to Vogue. Stylist Tatiana Waterford also revealed on Instagram that the draping of the dress was inspired by a bridal look from the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2006 Gold Label collection.
