Fans Are Slamming Keith Urban As ‘Gross’ And ‘Disrespectful’ After Viral Clip Shows Him Changing Song Lyrics To Reference His Female Guitarist Amid Nicole Kidman Divorce: ‘Shame On You!’

The world is still recovering after Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage on Tuesday, September 30th.
And now, fans are turning their shock to anger, after seeing a resurfaced clip of the 57-year-old country singer changing the lyrics to a song he originally wrote for the 58-year-old Oscar-winning actress, directing them instead at his 25-year-old female guitarist, Maggie Baugh.
The resurfaced clip was reportedly from the “Messed Up As Me” singer’s April 1st, 2025 show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, and shows him performing his 2016 hit “The Fighter,” which was inspired by the early days of his romance with the Nine Perfect Strangers actress. But fans were left stunned when, mid-performance, he appeared to flirt with the country musician, singing directly to her.
Instead of the original line, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” Urban seemingly sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”
Baugh uploaded the video to her own Instagram account on Saturday, September 26th, just a few days before news of Keith and Nicole’s separation broke. She captioned it, “Did he just say that?” with the eyes emoji, which has made people think that the timing of the upload wasn’t a coincidence, and she knew what was coming!
