Kelly Clarkson Returns To 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' With A New Kellyoke & Monologue

Today, on September 29th, the famous daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show returned with its first episode of the seventh season. The popular show is Emmy-winning, and after rumors that it may be reaching an end soon, fans were thrilled to see that it came back today.

It also marked an especially anticipated episode, as it's the first season being filmed since the American Idol alum lost her ex-husband and the father of her two children, Brandon Blackstock. After having a few mysterious absences from her series over the spring, and cancelling a few shows due to the talent agent's "illness," it was revealed that he had passed away due to cancer on August 7th.

For the special premiere episode, Kelly interviewed famous actors Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, and also did her infamous 'Kellyoke' segment, where she covers a song she's been into recently. She did a stunning rendition of The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights," which can be watched here, and reportedly gave an emotional monologue at the end.

"It's so great to see all of y'all again. I feel like it's been a minute," Clarkson said after her performance, as reported by US Weekly.

"I love that song, it makes me feel good, and it's a perfect song to kick us off because light has been a constant theme for us on this show since the beginning," she continued. "We've seen a lot in the past six years, and sometimes the world can be very heavy, but I've always said my favorite part of doing this job, and I stand by it, is finding the light and shining it on people who are really trying to make the world a better place. It sounds cheesy, but it's real. It makes you feel good. That's exactly what we're gonna be doing this week and all season, y'all."

Fans React To Kelly's Performance & Show Return On Social Media

After the highly anticipated episode aired, fans and other internet users crowded around the singer and talk show host with words of support, as she's reportedly been "devastated" following the loss of her ex. Although her and Brandon's divorce was allegedly quite painful, and they had to battle a few things out in court, sources say the singer has been doing what she can to stay strong for her children during the tumultuous time.

Therefore, seeing her smiling face on camera was a big relief for many, and fans took to social media to cheer her on, writing supportive words under the show's Instagram account.

"So happy you're back!" wrote a fan.

"Welcome back, queen!" added another. "We've all been praying for you. You've got this!"

"Glad to see you back," commented a fan.

"Love your show," added another. "You're terrific."

We're excited to see what the new season of the popular show has in store for the singer-songwriter, and it's good to know her fans have her back during this transitional period.
