Although Fashion Month has wrapped up, fans are still debating some of the most controversial runway designs and celebrity looks. One outfit continuing to spark conversation online is Kendall Jenner’s black gown, which she wore while closing the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2027 show at Milan Fashion Week on September 26.
The supermodel stepped onto the runway in an asymmetrical black draped gown featuring gathered fabric across the bodice, shoulder, and hips. The loose, oversized silhouette appeared to engulf her frame, while a miniature Bottega Veneta bag tucked beneath her arm and woven black footwear completed the look. She kept the rest of her styling understated with sleek, center-parted hair and minimal makeup.

Kendall Jenner's Black Dress At Bottega Veneta Show Compared To A 'Garbage Bag'
Despite confidently walking the runway as her boyfriend, Jacob Elordi, watched from the front row, Jenner’s outfit failed to impress many viewers online. Several critics compared the voluminous dress to a black garbage bag, while others questioned the design altogether.
“That dress is hideous,” one person commented.
Another wrote, “Could get the same look with a black bin bag.”
“Who’s responsible for this?” another asked, while someone else declared, “I hate this design.”
Other reactions included, “Hefty black bag,” “This is not flattering,” and “This looks like a garbage bag.”
One critic even called for fashion enforcement, writing, “Someone call the fashion police.”
Another bluntly summed up their opinion: “That dress is horrendous.”

Kendall Looks 'Stunning' At L’Oréal's Fashion Show
However, the reality TV star had a very different reception at the L’Oréal Paris “Express Your Worth” Le Défilé show in Paris just two days later.
Returning to the high-profile runway for the fourth time, the 30-year-old opened the outdoor show at Place Joffre on September 28, wearing a custom sheer black Mugler gown.
The striking design featured a crisscross halter neckline and a daring slit in the skirt.
As she smiled and waved to fans while walking the runway, Kendall drew praise from viewers who loved the glamorous look.

“THE FACE OF THE SHOW!!” one commenter added.
“Kenny, you look so stunning,” someone else wrote.
Other celebrities that walked the L’Oréal show were Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum, Cara Delevingne, Jane Fonda, and more.
While her Bottega Veneta ensemble divided fashion fans, her Mugler appearance proved to be a much more popular moment online.
