Both California-native stars grew up horseback riding, so it made sense for the shoot to take place at the Diamond Cross Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Donning boho-inspired ensembles—ruffled dresses, tiered skirts, flared jeans, knitted sweaters, cowboy hats, and boots—they posed atop horses, perfectly merging classic western style with a modern it-girl sensibility.

For the cover, The Kardashians star donned a blue-and-green wool plaid ensemble accented with suede details, while the mother of one stunned in a vibrant red, blue, and white patchwork mini dress featuring playful ruffles.
When the cover dropped, fans were quick to point out the poor Photoshop work in the images.
“Why do they choose the worst pictures for the cover???” Asked one fan. Another user wrote, “Is it me, or do they look very poorly photoshopped into that background?” A third commented, “Can a professional retoucher weigh in on this cover work… it looks unprofessional.” A fourth said, “This is a Hollister ad in the best-case scenario.” A fifth commented, “Who edited this? Kendall And Gigi Talk About Their Friendship In New Vogue Issue
For the cover story, the duo shared what their friendship was like and how it has changed as they’ve grown and settled into the modeling industry while juggling their personal lives.
Jenner started, “I’m so grateful for what we’ve always had. Especially being able to grow up together in this unique environment.”
“Even though we didn’t fully know each other or start spending time together until we worked together, we could relate to each other in a lot of ways [because of] how the world perceived us and those expectations on us,” Hadid added.
Gigi, who is currently dating Bradley Cooper, then praised Kendall by saying, “You’ve done such a good job of finding balance in your life, working and living out whatever you want to do. I think that’s what makes you one of the most sane people in this industry.” The reality star then got personal and revealed, “You have to almost…have a breakdown to break through. I had to have that moment to come out the other side and find that balance.”
