KFC‘s “finger lickin’ good” sauce is getting a major update.
The fast food chain’s famous signature dipping sauce has been replaced across stores in the United States, but before you get too worried, their new dipping sauce is supposed to be just as delicious.
Keep reading for more details.
A spokesperson explained the menu update: "KFC is always testing new products and evolving menu items to evaluate what resonates with consumers, and the new KFC sauce ultimately phased out the Finger Lickin’ Good Sauce in all US markets."
This updated menu item is described as "a signature sauce that is tangy and sweet, with a bit of smokiness specifically designed to pair with KFC’s Extra Crispy Tenders."

In the company's press release, Andrea Zahumensky, a chief marketing officer at KFC US, "When we set out to create a new signature dipping sauce, we went right to the experts – our customers – to find out what made a sauce best-in-class for dipping."
She continued, "We went through 50 iterations, and their response to this recipe was overwhelming!"

The fast food chain is calling the sauce "chicken dippin' good," an updated slogan for the new sauce.
However, the new mantra might have more to do with new safety protocols amidst coronavirus. KFC’s global chief marketing officer Catherine Tan-Gillespie explained, "We find ourselves in a unique situation — having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment. While we are pausing the use of 'It’s finger lickin’ good,' rest assured the food craved by so many people around the world isn’t changing one bit."

The new signature sauce came out October 12, but that's not the only part of the menu that's changed recently.
The company also updated their other sauces, including Classic Ranch, Honey BBQ, Honey Mustard, and hot sauce.
