Khloe Kardashian and Dua Lipa are both style icons in their own right, and both fans of the late Thierry Mugler‘s designs. The two stars recently donned the same dress pattern from the French fashion brand, as seen on their respective Instagrams and styled the item in their own ways.

Kardashian, 37, was the first to don the garment— Mugler’s trendy, transparent indigo and black-colored, ‘Star Print Dress.’ With its body-hugging fit, celestial print and bold, see-through effect, this look gives major late 90s/ Y2k nostalgia and the reality star paired it with black ‘Stiletto Over The Knee Boots’ from Paris Texas for her friends’ birthday party earlier this month.

To complete her look, The Kardashians star wore her dirty blonde locks in a half-up, half-down style and accessorized with shiny silver rings and oversized hoop earrings. She shared a photo of her in the dress with her friends on March 10th and 3 other photos of herself modeling the dress the next day on Instagram.

Lipa, 26, was next to wear Mugler’s starry number, and the “Don’t Start Now” hitmaker styled hers a little differently. Firstly, her version of the dress— the ‘Star Cutout Long Sleeve Minidress’ differed slightly from Kardashian’s in that this cut featured an upper-body cut-out that revealed her collarbone and shoulder. While Kardashian’s was still long-sleeved and made with the same pattern and material, Lipa’s had a slightly shorter hemline, and she paired her item with the ‘Star Tights’ from the Mugler Fall 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection.

The “Levitating” singer went for a minimal look when it came to accessories and makeup, and completed her ensemble with the ‘Black Kid Leather and Mesh Pumps with Straps’ from Mugler x Jimmy Choo. She too wore her dark brown locks up in a sleek ponytail and shared photos of her outfit to Instagram on March 11th seen posing in a dive bar/ arcade.
Ultimately, in this case of “who wore it better,” it’s truly impossible to choose! Kardashian undoubtedly pulls off the starry, sexy dress, as curve-hugging looks have always been her forte. Lipa can rock any early aughts fit there is, and looks just as stunning in her mini version with matching tights. Mugler’s show-stopping, legendary designs are popular among A-listers for a reason, and we’re sure this isn’t the last we’ll ever see of this pattern and dress!
