Khloé Kardashian‘s headshots from 2001, which were recently uncovered by the Daily Mail, are being compared to her more modern photos by fans.
Many believe that any noticeable changes in the 39-year-old reality star's appearance may be attributed to natural aging but also plastic surgery, significant weight loss, and the possibility of digitally enhanced images shared to her Instagram account.
The photographer of the older photos, Mike Dronge, dished to the outlet that Kardashian was an aspiring "model and actress" at the time, and this was all before her rise to fame on Keeping Up with the Kardashians years later.
Fans React To Khloé Kardashian's Transformation And Early 2000s Photos
In a recent Reddit thread, many fans shared their thoughts as to why the Good American founder seemed to "look so different" in her teenage years and early twenties as opposed to now (some even deemed her "unrecognizable"). "She looks so confident in most of these photos before all the fillers, surgery, etc," one fan wrote beneath the original post, which contained photos of Kardashian from the late 90s and early 2000s. "The irony is that people use cosmetic procedures to help boost their esteem, sometimes it does the opposite," they added.
Another commented: "Khloe has always been beautiful in my opinion" as someone else agreed: "I can’t believe people put her down. She was gorgeous. Her body, her face." Kardashian has been open in the past about feeling compared to her elder sisters Kim and Kourtney regarding her appearance, and feeling ridiculed for her body and weight throughout that time in her life.
Many fans also noted just how "toxic" the Y2K diet culture was at the time and how this still might "impact" the mom of two in present day (as others accused her of heavily editing her IG photos) "She looks so pretty with black hair," one Redditor wrote, adding: "And the diet culture of 2000s was so disgusting. I think many women who grew up during that time ended up with body image issues."
Fans also think that more recent photos show Kardashian's dedication to improving her health and appearance. Although some will always speculate that she underwent cosmetic procedures, she has always been open about her journey. In March 2023, one user commented beneath one of her IG selfies: "Do you ever miss your old face?" Kardashian replied: "No."
During a memorable KUWTK reunion episode, she also shared how public scrutiny affected her self-esteem in regards to her appearance. "For me, everyone says, ‘Oh my gosh, she's had her third face transplant,’ but I've had one nose job," Kardashian stressed. She went on: "And everyone gets so upset, like, why don't I talk about it? No one's ever asked me."
In 2019, she also fired back at a hater in her IG comment section, writing: "Now my eyes are pulled back? Lol oh man... you guys are really reaching. but sure, whatever you want to believe. I'm good with whatever babe. much love sent your way."
