Kim Kardashian‘s empire is expanding yet again. The star just launched her latest business venture, SKIMS Solutionwear, which is a line of shapewear and intimates designed to flatter a variety of body types and skin tones with its extended size and nude shade ranges.
“I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies,” Kardashian wrote on Instagram.
The line went live on SKIMS.com on Sept. 10 and, in true Kardashian fashion, is selling out fast!
SKIMS launches with categories including Seamless Sculpt, Core Control, Sheer Sculpt, Contour Bonded, Fits Everybody, and Mesh Intimates. Pricing ranges from $18 to $98 and the line is available in sizes XXS through 4X, and up to 5X in Shapewear, 28 cups, and 9 diverse colors to start. Each SKIMS piece has been extensively tried and tested on a range of shapes to ensure they perform for every body type.
So, why shapewear? The brand is the culmination of Kardashian's decade-long experimentation with underwear. She revealed that she has had difficulty finding shapewear that gave her the right support, matched her skin tone, or paired well with her outfits. This led her to cut up pieces at home and sew them together to get the solutions and results she wanted.
“I’m thrilled to see my brand SKIMS come to life," The KKW Beauty founder said in a press release. "I rely on solutionwear to accentuate and enhance my body, shape, and silhouette. As my style changed and evolved, I found myself altering existing shapewear to work specifically for each look that I was going for. I knew I wasn’t alone in looking for the perfect shapewear and was inspired to turn my passion into something real that works for every body type.”
Each piece in the SKIMS Solutionwear line is made with innovate new construction techniques to ensure that the shapewear will provide the proper support, coverage, and comfort. The brand opted for heavy bonded materials that smooth and flatter and lightweight, breathable fabrics for comfort and ease. They also used seamless technology so the wearer can see a visible sculpt and lift.
