After nearly 7 years of marriage Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have officially split, and just in time for Valentine’s Day. This year, Kardashian spent the day without romance, instead opting for time with her children as rumors of divorce swirled. However, she’s made it clear that she’s focused on her career and her family more than anything at the moment as she tries to put the split out of her mind.

In the past, Kanye has been known to shower Kim with flowers, gifts, and even a private concert for V Day. But this year was remarkably different, with the rapper spending the day at his ranch in Wyoming and Kardashian in California with her family. While it must be tough, Kim has maintained a strong face to the public, and has been busy promoting her new SKIMS Valentine’s collection as a worthy distraction.
According to a source for PEOPLE, “Kim is great. She has a Valentine's Day celebration planned with her kids and family. She likes to make it special for the kids. She doesn't have any contact with Kanye… It's obvious that she is just focused on the future.”
The couple, who have been married for almost 7 years, have had a rocky several months. West publicly announced his bid for the Presidency in 2020, which caused turmoil in the relationship and was reportedly a part of the undoing. Kim has been vocal about her rapper husband’s struggle with mental health issues in the past, but it seems that the pair have only continued to grow apart with Kanye living in another state to focus on his music.
As of February 20 Kardashian officially filed for divorce from West, but has yet to publicly make a statement. However, according to a source for E!, “There was no dramatic final moment between them recently where she said, 'This is it.'” The source continued on, saying that things are truly, “over and there's nothing more to say and that it was a "long time coming." Thankfully Kim is surrounded by family and a thriving business in SKIMS to provide some much needed distraction over the next few months.
