The media mogul recently posed in the new campaign for the SKIMS x Roberto Cavalli swimwear collaboration, and besides showing off her toned figure in her bathing suit, she also sported a retro-looking short blonde wig that led to some backlash online. Kim Kardashian Poses In A Blonde Wig For New SKIMS Campaign
The SKIMS founder was the main model for the shapewear brand's latest collaboration with famous fashion designer Roberto Cavalli. The two brands created a swimwear line with fun prints for the summer, and in the ad campaign, Kim can be seen posing in tiger-printed one pieces and other eye-catching summertime clothes.
In several shots, the mom-of-four can be seen wearing a short, curly blonde wig that is a bit more retro-looking. It's quite an interesting switch-up from her usual long, dark locks, and certainly stood out. In some shots, the short blonde hair look was paired with a headband, and in others, it was left on its own, making Kim look like an entirely different person.
Fans Say Kim's Old-School Wig Looks 'Cheap' On Social Media
While some hardcore fans of the Keeping Up Wth The Kardashians star cheered on the campaign and thought it was super stylish, others were rather critical of the entire look. However, a lot of the attention went towards Kim's blonde wig.
On social media platforms like Reddit, fans weighed in on the wig, and some of them did not hold back.
"What lazy styling," wrote a Reddit user.
"Especially in the last pic where the wig isn't even on her head. Typical trash."
Another user wrote that the wig "doesn't sit on her head right."
"This feels...cheap," wrote a critic.
"I loved the shoot, but the wig is horrible," commented a user.
"Is the wig supposed to look like that?" asked another.
While the AHS actress has yet to acknowledge the backlash towards her wig, she continues to plug the summertime collaboration. However, we'll be curious to see if she pays attention to the comments and chooses to avoid short blonde wigs in the future.
