King Charles may have shot a ‘lethal stare’ at a fan who shouted Princess Diana’s name during a recent public appearance with Queen Camilla, but that doesn’t mean he lacks remorse for how he treated his late ex-wife and the mother of his two children.
In fact, a close friend of the monarch reportedly revealed that he “deeply regrets” the pain he caused the late Princess Diana during their tumultuous marriage, which we assume is regarding his affair with Camilla. Keep reading for more info…
King Charles Reportedly 'Deeply Regrets' Infidelity During Marriage To Princess Diana
According to The Daily Mail's royal editor, Rebecca English, a source close to King Charles said he continues to feel deep regret for cheating on the late Princess Diana with Queen Camilla, who he has been married to for 20 years. The friend also pointed out that Princess Diana and Camilla were both involved in extramarital affairs during their respective marriages – Diana during her marriage to Charles, and Camilla during her marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles.
Friends of both King Charles and Queen Camilla were interviewed by English, who wrote in the publication: "Charles still deeply 'regrets' the pain and sadness caused."
One friend reportedly told her: "Both of them [Charles and Diana] behaved badly in that first marriage and made decisions that none of us could ever condone... But we can seek to try to understand them."

King Charles And Queen Camilla Were Involved In A Complicated Love Triangle
Charles and Camilla's love story dates back years before Charles ever met Diana, with previous reports claiming that he believed Camilla was 'the one' for him from the start, and was reportedly heartbroken when she married Parker Bowles in 1973. Despite that, the two remained close friends, with Camilla evening attending Charles' wedding to Diana in 1981. Wearing white, no less!
One of the monarch's friends reflected on how King Charles was in a lose-lose situation while he was still married to the late Princess Diana, with whom he shares sons Prince William and Prince Harry. "When you look back on it now, asking someone to sacrifice happiness for the sake of their public persona seems really quite cruel," said one friend.
Another friend touched on King Charles and Queen Camilla's affair, saying: "I don't think [Camilla] was ever going to [walk away.] She was committed to him."

King Charles And Queen Camilla's Love Has Stood The Test Of Time, But They Enjoy 'A Good Argument'
As King Charles and Queen Camilla celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary this month, it's clear to see that their love has stood the test of time. One source told English that eventually "people recognized, at the center of it all, were two people who loved each other."
However, that's not to say that they don't have their differences. "Like any of us, they will disagree. Strongly. They both have their different views. And they will have a very good argument," one friend dished, according to English.
While they reportedly have had many disagreements over the years, the main thing they disagree on at the moment is King Charles' work schedule. Queen Camilla is desperate for him to work less as he battles cancer, while her husband seems unwilling to slow down.
"The main issue is that she can't persuade him to take time out," a friend said, adding: "She obviously worries about him and his treatment. Except for the first couple of months, he's pretty well worked every day since."
