King Charles and Prince Harry may still not have reconciled, but it doesn’t sound like the monarch’s relationship with his firstborn is much better right now. According to a new interview with Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York author Andrew Lownie, King Charles and Prince William strongly disagree about the disgraced former Duke of York’s future; and their differing views are allegedly causing a real rift between them.

King Charles And Prince William Don't See Eye To Eye
King Charles is said to be more lenient, much like his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, while Prince William appears to be far less forgiving. This doesn't surprise us, especially as the Prince of Wales hasn't been a fan of his disgraced uncle for years!
This isn't the first time the king and future king have butted heads, with one ongoing point of disagreement being the future of the monarchy itself. King Charles still believes in the traditional "pomp and ceremony," according to Lownie, while Prince William's attitude is a little different. He wants to modernize and streamline the monarchy, with Lownie saying his view is: "We're becoming irrelevant. People are just laughing at us."
"There are always tensions between the Prince of Wales and the Monarch. They're different, you know, they are different generations," Lownie went on, before going on to talk about how their views about Andrew specifically differ.
One seems to echo the late Queen's softer stance, while the other takes a much tougher, no-nonsense approach. No prizes for guessing who is who!

"Does William also feel that Charles kind of cacked things up with Andrew by not really moving swiftly by not just cutting everything off and saying, 'Nope, let the chips fall where they may. This is done. We're done with you?'" Froelich asked, to which Lownie responded: "They brought all the problems on themselves."
"This is a problem that should have been dealt with years ago. They knew about Andrew. They were briefed," Lownie went on, adding: "The Queen was told about Andrew. I think one of the shocking things in my book was that she didn't do anything about it."
"Diplomats, politicians and others, members of the security services, came to her with extraordinary stories about Andrew's behavior, and she basically turned a blind eye," he added. Yikes! If this doesn't confirm that he was her favorite, nothing else will!
