Insiders are suggesting that she and the King have recently discussed the fact that she will take over as queen in the not-so-distant future too, with a source reportedly telling RadarOnline: "She and Charles had a private meeting about her stepping up sooner than expected."

RadarOnline's source went on to gush about King Charles and Kate Middleton's close bond, adding: "As you'd imagine, the relationship between the two of them is incredibly close. They've been a huge source of comfort to each other through their side-by-side battles against cancer."
They added: "It's also why Charles has taken great pains to give her plenty of space to recover for the inevitable moment that he and Camilla pass on the baton."

This news comes following a report from People last month, which claimed that royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith revealed that both the Prince and Princess of Wales are preparing to take over the throne due to King Charles' health.
Bedell Smith said at the time: "Although the King is carrying out his duties with typical determination, he has had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment. As a result, William has been taking on more responsibilities, and he and Kate have been preparing for their future roles sooner than they would have expected."
