King Charles has gone against royal protocol and kept royal fans in the loop regarding his health status since revealing that he was diagnosed with cancer last year.
And he has just issued another update, this time during a visit to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick on September 3rd.

King Charles Gives An Update On His Health Amid Cancer Battle
The King, 76, officially opened the new medical center and met with clinical staff, patients, and volunteers. During his rounds, the monarch stopped to speak with fellow patient Matthew Shinda, 73, who is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. When asked about his own health, King Charles reportedly smiled and said: "I'm not too bad."
The pair went on to discuss the frustrating delays Shinda (pictured above with King Charles) had experienced while seeking a diagnosis – something the King was reportedly quick to empathize with. "I'm very sorry about that, it's so frustrating," King Charles told him.
He added: "Half the problem is detecting it, isn't it, in time. The great thing, I think, is they're getting better and better at dealing with these things. The trouble is there's always hope down the road."
The King also lightened the mood during a conversation with 85-year-old Jacqueline Page, a patient on the hospital's acute elderly care ward. After she admitted she was "wearing out," King Charles quipped: "I know, this is the terrible thing, as I am discovering already. The bits don't work so well when you get past 70." His candid sense of humor, which he perhaps gets from his late father, Prince Philip, reportedly drew laughter from the ward.
