Kylie Jenner Makes Cameo Appearance in 'Residue' Music Video
While the reality star pulled off the appearance with confidence, many fans online weren’t impressed and labeled the moment cringe.
“This is so cringe lol,” said one fan. Another wrote, “NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, asked for this.” Others added, “Smoking is not cute,” and “U can tell Kylie doesn’t know how to smoke.” One person commented, “Secondhand embarrassment.” Another asked, “Why are we glamorizing cigarettes like in 1950?” One critic said, “She can’t act… she has the same face/expression all the time.” Another wrote, “So cringe. Smoking in 2026? Really? So out of touch.” Someone else noted, "Lily Rose would know how to do it better," referencing rumors that Kylie has been copying Timothée Chalamet's ex-girlfriend after she started dating him.
The Moment is a mockumentary starring Charli XCX and directed by Aidan Zamiri. The film satirizes the pressures of pop stardom, fame, and the struggle for creative control while preparing for an arena tour.
Charli shared what it was like working with the reality star during a special screening and Q&A for the A24 film.
“I think with the Kylie scene, it was so fun,” she said, “because it really was so easy and effortless, and she really, like, played with it and did her thing.”
Kylie Jenner Gets Candid on Acting and Music
Kylie has been dabbling in music in recent years. “Fourth Strike” marked her debut music single in 2025, released under her “King Kylie” persona in collaboration with pop duo Terror Jr.
In November, she told her sister Khloé Kardashian on the Khloé in Wonderland podcast that she’s also interested in exploring acting and making more music.
“I would do another acting job if it was the right fit,” Kylie teased. “And I do want to get back into the studio. I’m not saying I would release any new music, but I want to try. ‘Cause why not try?”
Addressing potential criticism, Kylie made it clear she’s confident in pursuing what she wants. “Why not try and just enjoy life? … If no f**** were given before, no f**** are given now,” she said. “Not a f*** in sight. I don’t really care what people have to say. I think I’ve had goals and dreams in my life, and why would I let anyone’s opinions stop me from living out any dreams that I have?”
