Although the world only found out about the private couple’s split in March 2023, a source close to the Joker 2 actress reportedly told Radar Online at the time that they had actually gone their separate ways a few months prior. “They broke up a few months ago,” the insider said at the time, adding that the break-up was “amicable” and that they’re “still friends.” But what was the real reason for the split?

If we are to believe reports, the 37-year-old Oscar-winner broke up with the 45-year-old investor and tech entrepreneur because he didn’t want to tie the knot and have children – both of which were things that the "Shallow" singer reportedly very clearly wanted. Radar's source revealed that "their relationship hit a wall" after they couldn’t agree on marriage and kids.
We already know how the House of Gucci star feels about having children of her own, as she previously opened up about her desire to become a mom in an interview with InStyle back in 2020. She told the pub at the time: "I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mom."
The "Poker Face" hitmaker's desire to have children in the future is so strong that she reportedly made the decision to freeze her eggs earlier this year. "Gaga has always dreamed of having a husband and a couple of kids, and the men in her life thought highly of her but agreed she was a hard person to have a relationship with – she's always running off to record, perform, act or tour," an insider spilled to Radar Online back in February 2023. "She knows her clock is running out, so she's decided to give herself the opportunity to make her baby dreams come true," they added.
However, despite wanting to walk down the aisle and become a mom, the "Bad Romance" singer also seems to be very happy being on her own too. In March 2023, when news of her break-up from Polansky first came out, she said in an interview with Wallpaper magazine: "I'm actually really interested in living more of a life of solitude."
"It's really nice to just have time to be alone, and be expansive, and know that you're enough," she continued. "I wish I could tell my younger self that. When I was younger, I spent a lot of time alone writing music. But the more successful I became, the more I felt like I needed other people to tell me I was great."

Perhaps the "Rain On Me" singer or Polansky have changed where they stand about marriage and children, as they were spotted grabbing dinner in Studio City on August 13th, leading people to wonder whether they are back together. Pap pictures obtained by the Daily Mail show the A Star is Born actress wearing a black mini skirt and a leather blazer with her platinum blonde hair tied up, while Polansky was wearing a dark baseball cap.
They haven't been spotted in public together for many months, so does this mean that they could be back on? Or perhaps their outing was just a platonic dinner among friends, which coincides with what Radar's source previously said about the former couple still being friendly with each other.
