For the ’90s-themed celebration, the award-winning journalist wore a black off-the-shoulder crop top paired with matching shorts, a cheetah-print fur jacket draped over her shoulders, and red-soled stiletto boots. She finished the look with festive green and red jeweled bangles, styled her hair in loose waves, and opted for full glam makeup.

Khloé Kardashian, who shared photos from the night, stunned in a strapless fur-trimmed mini dress with sheer tights and heels, accessorizing with a fur stole. Kris Jenner kept things chic in a fur-trimmed mini jacket, tights, and glossy black shoes.
The Kardashians are no strangers to backlash for their over-the-top birthday and holiday celebrations, and this time was no different. Social media users were quick to call out the trio’s lavish party, criticizing the friend group as out of touch while many Americans continue to struggle with everyday expenses and financial stress.
“Is Lauren paying y’all to hype her up? No one is interested in normalizing this nonsense. It’s getting dystopian. Please stop,” one user said under Khloe’s Instagram post. A second wrote, “The Kardashians have no political awareness, do they?” To which someone replied, “Wealth is all they care about. That’s all the politics they dare invest in caring about.” A fourth quipped, “This is why we don't care about the Kardashians anymore. Y'all are way out of touch.” A fifth wrote, “NO! You are the company you keep.” Another person dragged Jeff Bezos into the conversation and said, “Hey, could you please ask her and her husband to pay their employees and taxes?”
Lauren Sánchez and the Kardashians' Close Bond
Lauren has long been close with the Kardashian-Jenner family, particularly Kim Kardashian, Khloé, and Kris. Their friendship dates back to around 2010, when Sánchez first connected with Kris and Caitlyn Jenner. Over the years, the bond has only grown stronger, with the Kardashians showing public support for Sánchez’s milestones—including her Blue Origin spaceflight earlier this year.
Kris and Khloé traveled to Texas to attend the launch, cheering her on and calling the moment historic. Kim, who missed the event due to law school studies, later joined in the celebration by gifting Sánchez a $7K Judith Leiber UFO purse following the flight, a present she and Khloé co-gifted with Kris.
In an interview with the live Blue Origin broadcast at the time, Kris said of Lauren and the rest of the all-female crew, “This is a really unique experience, and we’re just so honored to be here to support them and watch this amazing part of history, and I’m so proud of her.”
Most recently, Kim, Khloé, Kris, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner were all in attendance at Bezos and Sánchez’s star-studded wedding in Venice in June 2025.
