Snacking often gets a bad reputation when it comes to fat loss, but the right snacks can actually support your goals by keeping you full, balancing blood sugar, and preventing overeating later. The key is choosing nutrient-dense options that are high in protein, fiber, or healthy fats—without added sugars or empty calories. Stores like Aldi offer a surprising variety of affordable, waistline-friendly snacks that can fit into a fat loss plan. With smart choices, snacking can be a helpful tool rather than a setback.

Tim Liu, a fat loss coach, recently revealed his favorite healthy snacks from Aldi for when he wants to satisfy a craving without straying from his nutrition goals. Read on to get all his recommendations.

1. Simms Beef Jerky

“This whole bag is only 180 calories, and it’s got 32 grams of protein,” Liu says. These are great snacks for weight loss because they're high in protein, low in carbs, and convenient—making them ideal for curbing hunger between meals without adding excess calories.

2. Benton's Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies

Liu says, “Seven of these are only 140 calories.” These cookies are made with almond flour, which is higher in protein and healthy fats compared to traditional wheat flour, potentially offering more satiety. However, it's important to note that the fat content is relatively high, and the protein content is modest.

3. Simply Nature Freeze-Dried Strawberries

Being made from 100% strawberries with no added sugars or preservatives, this snack aligns well with clean eating principles. Their portability and long shelf life make them a convenient option for on-the-go snacking. Liu says a whole bag is only 100 calories. However, it’s important to consume in moderation due to the natural sugar content.

4. Happy Farms Light String Cheese

“One of these is only 50 calories,” Liu notes; additionally, it provides about 13% of the daily recommended calcium intake, supporting bone health.
