When Margot Robbie isn’t busy shooting the long-awaited Barbie film, the style icon is soaking up the sun in the cutest bikinis. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star, 32, was photographed by paparazzi last week rocking a yellow striped two-piece bathing suit while on a yacht with her husband Tom Ackerley, and Amsterdam co-star Rami Malek. Robbie set sail near the Spanish island of Formentera, and was seen jumping and swimming with friends into the Mediterranean Sea. Robbie paid homage to her homeland by rocking the mustard-colored, 70s-esque swim set by Triangl, an Aussie-based brand with Italian-made swimwear. To complete her beach day look, the Wolf of Wall Street alum wore her long blonde tresses down, parted in the middle and styled into loose waves. Her triangle-top and side-tie bottom were accessorized with shiny gold hoop earrings, and the Birds of Prey actress was also seen on the boat wearing dark shades.

Robbie’s choice of a yellow hue for her swimwear really “highlighted her incredible curves,” as one fan tweeted. Another added that she is “naturally beautiful” and loved seeing her “looking happy surrounded by friends.” Others expressed that they are anxiously awaiting the Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie flick (we have to wait until July 2023 unfortunately), and joked that Robbie needs to “get back to work” to “finishing filming” the movie that many are “most excited about” for the next year. (Us, too!)
Over summer 2022, thousands of fans have shared and reposted paparazzi-snapped pics of Robbie and her co-star Ryan Gosling (who will star as Ken) while filming scenes in California, and praised the “perfect casting” choices. Back in April with Robbie and in June with Gosling, Warner Brothers also gave fans a first look of each actor in their beloved and iconic doll role, sending the internet into a frenzy.

In an August 2021 interview with British Vogue, Robbie sat down to discuss taking on such a popular character, the expectations she felt from fans, and how she was then preparing for the role. Robbie explained that the character “comes with a lot of baggage and a lot of nostalgic connections,” and added that “with that comes a lot of exciting ways to attack it.”
“People generally hear ‘Barbie’ and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh, well, maybe I don’t,’” Robbie said. Gerwig’s partner Noah Baumbach, (director of films such as Marriage Story and The Squid and The Whale) is co-writing the script with her, and production for the film began earlier this year. Barbie will zoom into theaters with her pink car on July 21, next summer.

Overall, as much as we love getting summer style inspo from Robbie with these recent bikini-clad pics, we have to agree with fans that seeing them makes us want to watch the Barbie movie ASAP!
