What Rule Do Matthew McConaughey And Camila Alves Follow In Their Successful Marriage?

In a new interview with Fox News Digital, the 55-year-old The Lost Bus actor revealed one rule he and the 42-year-old Brazilian model, entrepreneur and philanthropist follow in their marriage. And it's related to the bedroom!

The Sing 2 actor confirmed that the longevity of his marriage has a lot to do with the bed he and his wife sleep in. And in this case, bigger is not better!

Talking about why he is against super-king and even king-size beds, he said: "I wake up one morning… I'm looking over there, and Camila's like a football field away, man. Then you go to bed at night, like, you want to snuggle up and… 'Well, we've got to cover you up. Come about 12 feet, and I'll come 12 feet.'"

"You're like, man, this [expletive] king-size bed is not good for the marriage, man. Get rid of that son of a [expletive,]" he joked, adding: "So we got a queen-size, where we're shoulder to shoulder. I'm telling you, it's good for your marriage." Noted!

Matthew McConaughey Says You Have To Make 'Time' For Your Partner When You Have Kids

Another thing that's good for the marriage, according to the Dallas Buyers Club actor, is ensuring there is a romantic connection with your spouse regardless of everything else going on around you.

Speaking about making time for his wife in the midst of parenting their children, the Interstellar star said: "You've got kids, so you don't… you're spending as much time being a good mother and father of them, but you also gotta make sure – and I can do a better job of this – of going, 'No, this is our time.'"

"You can't 100% live with the kids as a parent," he went on. "You gotta make to remember that one of the best examples you can give the kids of how to treat a woman or a man or how to someone they end up falling in love with down the line is how you treat their mother and how the mother treats the father."
