Former McDonald's Chef Shares Why He Thinks Their Burgers Have Dipped In Quality
Chef Mike Haraz, a TikTok content creator and former McDonald's corporate chef, weighed in on the online conversation surrounding the dip in quality of some McDonald's signature food items, like their cheeseburgers. Complaints have been coming in from customers nationwide, many of whom believe the food is no longer worth the price. Mike believes the corporation could be doing this "on purpose."
"I realized why they made a variety of changes to the bun and burger process," says Mike.
"They want the regular burgers, the Big Macs, the Double Cheeseburgers, the McDoubles, to be bad, and I will tell you why."
Mike begins noting that over the last year, McDonald's has had "a drastic dip" in the number of customers eating at their restaurant, despite being "more profitable than ever."
Therefore, they've been making "a lot more money" by selling more portable items. Then, Mike asks, "Why would they wanna make the cheaper things better?"
"I think they've made a bunch of changes to their core, cheap, affordable items," he adds.
Fans React To McDonald's Corporate Chef's Theory On TikTok
Once Mike explained that he believed the quality of McDonald's classics had lowered to push customers to spend money on more expensive items, he said the entire situation was "not a value and not as good." His followers and other TikTok users then began going off in the comments, complaining about their latest experiences at the fast food restaurant and sharing similar sentiments.
"After growing up eating at McDonald's, I won't go there anymore," wrote a TikTok user.
"For not much more money, you can go to a local burger joint and get a much better meal," added another.
"Nothing at McDonald's hits like it used to," expressed a customer.
Another TikTok user noted that "everything is more expensive these days, but McDonald's is out of hand for the quality you get."
While McDonald's seemingly stands by their food quality and prices, due to the price hikes on items that were once considered a 'value,' fans can't help but wonder if there's something else going on behind the scenes.
